Ottawa Walks The Walk For Ovarian Cancer
On Sunday, September 13th, the people of Ottawa will join thousands of Canadians in the 6th annual Winners Walk of Hope in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada. The event runs from 9 - 12 p.m. at Mooney's Bay Park. Ottawa is one of 14 cities in Canada joining the Winners Walk of Hope on the same day at the same time - from St. John's, Newfoundland to Victoria, British Columbia. Walk volunteers and title sponsor, Winners, hope to raise $1.2 million for initiatives to support women with ovarian cancer and their families, raise awareness of the disease and fund research into early detection. A registration fee of $25 will be waived for all those raising $100 or more in pledges.
